Procrastination = great discoveries

The other day, I was SUPPOSE to be folding my laundry. However, I was willing to do pretty much anything to get myself out of it. I started going through a cooking drawer and found some cookie cutters.... I thought... Why not try these?? If these work then I dont neeeeed the templates. So I tried them and discovered that they work!
We need to make a new larger casting frame.. But that should be beyond easy!!! Things are becoming very simple!
The only thing that would make them even easier, is if we had a store near by that sold paper making items. But, there is not... Sad, really.

Anyways, I will post pictures as soon as we get some done that are actual product and not testers :)

Check back!,

Processing

It has been a few weeks. I know. Life got busy --- and in all honesty, I forgot about the blog. Sorry, never again (i hope).

Soooo, where we are...

We have got creative juices flowing. We have consistency issues down for thickness or thin-ness.
Only thing we have to test is binding. However, we have since launched new ideas. This way we can launch this month with a separate project, but same goal.

That is right, you heard us correctly. We have set a launch date! November 27th!

Yes, this gives us a deadline, and I know I (missa) myself am great with deadlines and being on time. ;) with a little nagging, Heather is, too ;)

Anyways, we are working on a website and hopefully can post this address soon!

Dont just think about it, do it!

Creative Fixings

Just a quick update!

It only took one night of 3 brains joining forces to sketch up our logo! Now, we just need to trademark it and then we are set with that! Heather's co-worker donated a BUNCH of equipment to us. Just stuff that she had sitting in her closet, not being used!!! How awesome!!! We appreciate it GREATLY!!

This Saturday Heather and Missa are planning on doing a test run with these journals. See how they hold up. Next week, Missa will be in Michigan for work. But, don't worry. In her spare time she will be dedicating it all to research and work on 3V Journals. :)

Stop back.. We plan on updating again soon!

A process within a process

As stated before, we are in the very beginning process of getting up and running. We DID, however, discuss a time frame goal to be open and selling!!! :) The process of making us a "legit" business is under-go. Getting all the legal filing out of the way is a pain in the rear. Currently, in the filing process is the sellers permit, federal/state tax id's, and the Doing Business As papers. We are still in the filling out stages. Still doing my research on which company to file through. Blake suggests LegalZoom.com, while I trust his suggestion and respect his recommendation(s), I still want to make sure that this company is starting off right.. making sure all investments are thought through properly. However, I did find another site to file on.. and they offer a free credit card machine. Fancy!! :) Once we have all of our "ducks in a row" we will announce the launch date!! YAY!! Be excited!!! We sure are!!!! Poor Brad has had to put up with Heather and me flooding his e-mail inbox. Eventually he just stopped reading because he couldn't keep up and the one time he DID respond, we missed. We are just so excited that it is very hard to contain it! We just need to hold on to this excitement. We have a long road ahead of us filled with a lot of hard work!! It will all be worth it!!! :)

Thanks for reading! Check back soon!!! :)

Re-writing the pages of those already wrote

First and foremost, we must give credit where credit is due. If it were not for Blake Mycoskie, founder of TOMS Shoes and author of 'Start Something That Matters,' the inspiring ideas and new life changing road would not be before us! (If you have not picked up your copy of Blake's book... you really should! It's AMAZING!!!)

With this said, our idea came to us one Sunday early evening. Missa was in a car on her way to a work event for a job she hated. Heather was currently at work behind her desk. Bradley, was opted in for his creative brain.

The genius beyond genius idea is to take something as simple as a journal and turn it around to help children around the world have the supplies they need. We have come across a few resources that give us schools and specifically classrooms who are in need of direct help. Through the selling of these journals, we will collect all the items from the classroom list. After all the items have been collected we will pay these schools/classrooms a visit and give them the gift of all the items they need. :) We are beyond excited to help as many classrooms and schools as we can!!!

We do plan on blogging the entire process of journal selling and the collecting of all items!!! Once we have chosen the classrooms and schools to help we will announce them. For the supply drops we will video blog and picture blog these as well so that everyone can see that their purchase made a difference in those kids lives and has helped them to have everything they need to make learning to the best of their abilities possible!!!

We have got a lot of work ahead of us and a LOT of planning!!! Keep following to see this adventure progress!!
